Traffic Management

Traffic Management is a division of Roadworks NZ Ltd.

The Traffic Management Division was set up the help increase Traffic Management & Safety awareness in our industry, and to raise awareness for compliance with the Code of Practice for Working in the Road.   We operate in a dangerous environment and our commitment to compliance is critical for the safety for the travelling public and staff. 

Managing Director Colin Sloss, previously owned Local Construction Ltd, one of the largest privately owned contracting firms in Canterbury.  Local Construction was the winner of 12 Canterbury ‘Contractor of the Year’ awards including winning the Health & Safety award in 2001 for the Garlands Opawa Road Motorway Intersection Improvement which had a count of 17000. vehicles per day with 15% HCV’s.   In 2003 they were the recipient of a New Zealand award for Improvements at SH73 Parkhouse/Curletts/Lunns Rd Intersection where the vehicle count was over 100,000. per day.

Colin successfully owned and operated Local Construction until the company sold to City Care in October 2004, at this time there was a team of 95 staff.
